Role Overview

The Accounting Manager leads a variety of functions which include operational and technical accounting processes. The role requires knowledge and experience to successfully develop and implement work-streams, advocate best-practices, and build and lead a team to achieve world-class results. This role requires exceptional people manager experience, excellent organizational, analytical, critical thinking, and collaboration skills.

Your responsibilities will be
  • Own and be accountable for timely and accurate financial accounting processes including control procedures and internal reporting
  • Collaborate cross-finance and cross-function on new business initiatives, product launches, and process improvements for successful and timely implementation
  • Responsible for the execution of billing, revenue, and accounts receivable processes and controls which includes managing a team of three accountants
  • Plan and execute month-end close procedures which includes posting or reviewing journal entries, reviewing account reconciliations, and other ad-hoc processes as required by each accounting function
  • Lead finance transformation efforts through the implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools or other automation tools
  • Lead and develop team members - provide feedback on work quality, advocate best-practices, and identify professional development or training needs
  • Research and interpret accounting guidance and implement processes in compliance with appropriate standards
  • Manage portfolio of projects to completion including financial analysis, compliance reporting, and initiatives to support the global business
  • Execute, review, and implement controls to mitigate risk and to ensure compliance with regulations, including SOX
  • Provide support for external and internal audit inquiries Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, focusing on creating efficient & scalable processes to foster growth
  • Oversee intercompany accounting activities including billing, settlements, and reconciliations across entities
  • Performs other related duties as required or requested


The ideal candidate has
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance related field
  • Master's degree in Accounting or Finance related field preferred, but not required
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Minimum of 5 years of public accounting experience, or a minimum of 7 years of relevant, progressive accounting experience with experience leading teams
  • Advanced knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) in a variety of topics, including ASC 606
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel & Word Experience with Workday accounting software, IBM Planning Analytics (TM1), would be an asset
  • Exposure to Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, SQL, Python, or similar languages would be a plus, but not required
  • Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills - ability to demonstrate concepts in both memorandums and business forum settings and to prioritize team tasks in an efficient manner
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - ability work independently or within a team, and communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Exceptional people manager skills - fostering an environment of teamwork where associates are encouraged to voice their ideas and opinions while working together to achieve team objectives.

Salary Ranges (applicable for US locations only)
At Cboe, we are committed to providing a competitive, transparent, and market-informed total rewards program. The anticipated base salary range for this role is $110,500-$143,000, with actual compensation determined by job-related factors such as skills, relevant experience, education, internal alignment, and location.

This role may also be eligible for annual incentive compensation and, where applicable, participation in Cboe's long-term equity programs.
