We9re looking for a driven and experienced Accounting Manager to lead a team of accountants while staying close to the work. In this hybrid player-coach role, you9ll oversee Member accounting operations, ensure high-quality financial deliverables, and partner directly with business owners to provide clarity and insight. You9ll play a key role in developing team talent, improving processes, and leveraging technology to elevate how we deliver accounting services.
What We9ll Achieve- Deliver accurate, timely, and audit-ready financial reporting across a portfolio of Members by overseeing and quality-checking team output.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 3-6 accountants (Junior through Senior), driving performance, accountability, and growth.
- Own a subset of Member relationships, providing hands-on accounting support and strategic advisory (e.g., budgeting, financial insights, and decision support).
- Maintain high standards of financial integrity by ensuring clean general ledgers, reconciliations, and compliance with GAAP.
- Improve Member retention and satisfaction by building strong relationships and translating financials into clear, actionable insights.
- Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and AI-driven solutions to increase efficiency and reduce errors across the team.
Who You Are- You have 6-8+ years of professional accounting experience, including experience in a public accounting firm or multi-client environment (required).
- You have at least 2+ years of experience leading or mentoring others, with a strong interest in team development.
- You hold a Bachelor9s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA is a plus but not required.
- You have deep knowledge of GAAP and strong experience managing full-cycle accounting processes.
- You are highly proficient in QuickBooks Online and comfortable leveraging modern accounting tools and automation technologies.
- You are tech-forward and excited about using AI and systems to improve workflows and scalability.
- You are a strong communicator who can translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.
- You are organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple clients and priorities simultaneously.
- You are a proactive problem-solver who takes ownership and drives continuous improvement.
