OverviewBanyan Search is looking for an Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations and accounts payable functions within a growing organization. Reporting to senior finance leadership, this role will oversee month-end close activities, ensure GAAP compliance, strengthen internal controls, and drive process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical accounting expertise, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Lead month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, financial analysis, and issue resolution.
- Ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with GAAP and internal control requirements.
- Partner with business leaders and IT teams to improve processes, system utilization, and data integrity.
- Serve as a key contact for external auditors and support audit-related activities.
- Oversee accounts payable operations, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and reconciliations.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting and AP team members.
- Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and workflow enhancements.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support operational and business decisions.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Experience in general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close.
- Prior experience leading or supervising accounting teams.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and accounting best practices.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems.
- Proven ability to drive process improvements and system enhancements.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
