Position OverviewPantheon Data is seeking an
Accounting Lead to support U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters Directorates by providing financial oversight and guidance for civil engineering and operational programs. This role plays a key part in ensuring financial integrity, compliance with federal appropriation law and agency policies, and the effective management of real property assets within government financial systems. The Accounting Lead will collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to financial planning and policy alignment, and support evolving program needs within a complex federal environment. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical and communication skills, relevant federal financial management experience, and the ability to navigate regulatory requirements while promoting accuracy, accountability, and mission success.
Responsibilities- Provide financial and operational management support for Procurement, Construction, and Improvement (PC&I) and Coastal and Shore Operations (CSO) projects including project cost estimating, cost adjustments, spend plans, annual engineering and logistics policy updates, project cost treatment, and FSMS technical support.
- Provide expertise on Federal Appropriation Law, Congressional/DHS/USCG Financial Policy to support engineering and logistics program integrity and operational compliance.
- Provide support for the accountability of Real Property assets recorded within the USCG financial management system(s).
Required Skills and Experience- Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Management, Engineering, or Business.
- An active CPA.
- CDFM (Certified Defense Financial Manager) or CGFM (Certified Government Financial Manager) certification.
- 5+ years of Federal Real Property including Financial Management experience, including experience with FSMS, or similar ERP.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work effectively remotely in cross-functional teams.
- Ability to meet deadlines and produce quality work.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite software including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Skills and Experience- Experience supporting DHS/USCG or any other federal agency.

- Communication with non-financial stakeholder along with analytical precision.
- Organizational awareness and problem-solving.
- Adaptability to financial systems and tools.
- Team collaboration and transparency with policy interpretation and application.
Clearance RequirementsU.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Work Location: Onsite at USCG HQ in Washington, D.C.

CompensationThe salary range for this position is $100,000 - $190,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
