As an accounting analysis manager on the Global Lease Accounting team, you will have the opportunity to be part of an incredible team that supports our global lease portfolio. This role will support accounting close and financial reporting activities, develop reporting and analyses to maintain the accuracy of the financial statements and support business partners, implement and document new and current accounting processes, and review deliverables that support SEC filings. You will collaborate with teams across Starbucks to support the existing business and new initiatives, while preparing and reviewing quarterly financial reporting deliverables.

This partner will be responsible for overseeing the accounting activities and analysis needed to support our internal and external financial reporting requirements, including several financial statement footnotes, as well as act as an accounting subject-matter expert, leading occupancy-related projects from the accounting lens and providing business partners with clear and consistent accounting guidance and education.

This role has no direct reports, but a successful partner is comfortable leading partners at various levels on the team, reviewing the work of other partners, and providing informal coaching and feedback.

As an accounting analysis manager, you will...
• Lead through complexity and collaboration - Manage multiple priorities during complex change, lead cross-functional projects in a fast-paced environment, influence organizational initiatives, and work across teams to communicate accounting guidance and protect the integrity of the financial statements.
• Serve as an accounting subject matter expert - Provide clear and consistent guidance and education, advise on the accounting and financial impacts of new or proposed transactions, quantify risks and opportunities, and recommend solutions.
• Deliver accurate reporting and actionable analysis - Create complex analyses that influence business decisions and ensure accurate, timely reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and Starbucks accounting policies.
• Strengthen systems, processes, and controls - Provide oversight of accounting systems, processes, and internal controls; identify control weaknesses; implement sustainable improvements; support systems enhancements; and help ensure accounting systems are stable and scalable.
• Drive continuous improvement and new business readiness - Partner cross-functionally to implement accounting solutions for new business activities and implement new accounting policies and processes as requirements change.
• Support partner development - Provide training and coaching, review the work of others, and help the team prioritize work.

We'd love to hear from people with:
• Bachelor's degree required; degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of relevant experience, including performing complex accounting activities in a high-growth environment at a large, multinational public company; developing, interpreting, and implementing accounting policies and processes while maintaining a strong internal control environment; and applying U.S. GAAP to complex business transactions.
• Public accounting experience preferred; CPA preferred.
• Ability to assess business processes and implement improvements and controls, with working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or another ERP preferred, plus experience with business intelligence and reporting tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate accounting results to accounting and non-accounting customers at various levels.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence successful outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, work independently, demonstrate initiative, maintain exceptional attention to detail, continuously improve processes, and document work performed.
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
