Full Job Description
What You Will Do

Position Description
    • Perform inventory and revenue accounting functions for the Bakken marketing entity under the Products Pipeline Segment.
    • Execute monthly close procedures including journal entry preparation and variance analysis against last forecast, identifying and escalating material variances.
    • Drive quarter-end flux analysis for income statement and balance sheet accounts, including backlog reporting.
    • Collaborate with the Contracts, Pipeline Nominations, Scheduling and Business Development teams to prepare bi-weekly margin and inventory forecast.
    • Partner with the Scheduling/Measurement department as it relates to trucking invoices, reviewing for accuracy and processing related payment, and calculating related gains/losses.
    • Reconcile inventory between the general ledger and shipper statements, resolving discrepancies timely.
    • Execute monthly counterparty settlement including email confirmations, wire payment processing for purchases, and invoice generation for sales.
    • Resolve volume/price discrepancies with counterparties in coordination with Scheduling/Business Development.
    • Prepare severance tax payment and reporting to file with the State of North Dakota.
    • Maintain SOX compliance as it relates to recorded revenues and keeping appropriate supporting documentation.
    • Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts in Blackline,
    • Perform additional ad hoc duties as needed.

What You Need

Position Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance from an accredited university
    • CPA preferred
    • 5-7 years of accounting or finance-related work experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry
    • Advanced proficiency level in Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to Outlook, Word, and Excel
    • Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and self-management skills.
    • Proven ability to prioritize competing deadlines and deliver accurate work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organization, internally and externally
    • Strong analytical skills and logical thought processes, with ability to solve complex problems through solution-oriented analysis
    • Must pass a Kinder Morgan drug screen and background check
