Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly journal entries accurately and on time
  • Analyze transportation and storage contracts for revenue recording per ASC 606
  • Provide insights on income statement variances quarterly and yearly
  • Prepare and present schedules for monthly close meetings
  • Ensure compliance with Internal Controls
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Oversee regulatory reporting for state, FERC, and EIA

Full Job Description
What We Are Looking For

Position within the Regulated Interstate Accounting Department which performs pipeline & storage accounting functions for one of the largest natural gas pipeline assets in the U.S. The successful candidate must be self-motivated, seeking opportunities to learn a variety of tasks and have disciplined organizational & time management skills. Good communication skills and attributes of a team player are required as this position will have the opportunity to interact with various departments including Planning, Transportation Services, Account Services, Regulatory, Measurement, Corporate Accounting and Commercial.

What You Will Do

  • Timely & accurate preparation of monthly journal entries.
  • Analysis of transportation & storage contracts for proper recording of revenue per ASC 606.
  • Analyze and explain monthly, quarterly and year-to-date income statement variances.
  • Preparation & presentation of monthly close meeting schedules.
  • Ensure Internal Controls compliance.
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Timely completion of monthly, quarterly & annual regulatory reporting including State, FERC and EIA.
  • Timely completion of audit requests from both internal & external auditors.
  • Participate in periodic system testing.
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain regular, dependable attendance and a high level of performance.

What You Need

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance with 3+ years of experience.
  • Natural gas pipeline experience is highly desired.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook, Word) & Adobe.
  • Lawson financial system experience is a plus.
  • Highly analytical and detail oriented with ability to analyze complex issues.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently, with other departments & with peers.
  • Ability to readily take direction from supervisor(s).
  • Strong organizational skills & ability to manage multiple priorities which often may have strict or changing deadlines.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Overtime will be required periodically.
