Job Description:

Integrated Logistics Services (ILS) has an open Accountant position supporting various Logistics Operations located within the US.  These operations manage the warehousing of material for manufacturing plants across Caterpillar’s divisions.  This Accountant position works closely with Logistics facility managers on results reporting and business insights.

What You Will Do:

  • Financial planning and analysis for Logistics Operations facilities (monthly results reporting, quarterly forecasting and annual business planning).
  • Creating and utilizing automated tools for the updating, analyzing and reporting of consolidated financial results.
  • Collaborate with Logistics Operations as the business analyst, to understand their business and provide financial insights.
  • Analyze and understand financial impacts; communicate to cross-functional leadership to enable better decision making for accountable results and projects/business proposals.
  • Be a trusted business partner to Logistics Operations leaders.

  • Education/Experience: Accounting or Finance degree
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors
  • Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation
  • Accounting: Knowledge of accounting methods, processes, and tools; ability to maintain and prepare financial statements and reports using accounting methods and processes.
  • Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
  • Financial Reporting: Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports

Summary Pay Range:

$112,710.00 - $169,060.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
