Account Manager: Where Your Impact Actually Matters

The Opportunity (What This Role Really Means)

Some of our client relationships are simply more complex than others. Networks and aggregators with multiple entities under one roof. Large wealth management firms. Bank-affiliated practices and trust companies that operate inside real regulatory and governance structures. These are the relationships that take a steady, senior hand, and that is exactly what this role owns.

As an Account Manager, you are the senior relationship owner for a book of our most institutionally demanding clients. Your first job, always, is keeping those clients healthy, renewed, and growing. From that foundation you find and lead the expansion conversations that grow the partnership over time. You will sit across from principals and executives, navigate the layers that come with bank and trust organizations, and bring order to engagements that have a lot of moving parts.

Your Day-to-Day (The Honest Version)

The Core Work
• Owning retention, renewal, and growth across a defined book of complex network, wealth management, enterprise, and trust accounts, with retention as the priority.
• Building and sustaining trusted relationships with C-suite, principal, and executive stakeholders across the full client organization, not just a single point of contact.
• Leading proactive, structured business reviews that connect Practifi's value to each client's broader strategy.
• Identifying and leading expansion opportunities across multi-entity and cross-firm relationships, and running enterprise-scale renewal and expansion conversations.
• Building account plans that map stakeholders, expansion surface area, and commercial milestones, and orchestrating Implementation, Product, and Support to deliver on them.
• Being the client's advocate inside Practifi, carrying what you learn back to Support, Implementation, and Product so we keep getting better at serving complex accounts.

The Reality Check

These accounts come with governance structures, procurement and legal layers, compliance considerations, and decision-making that takes longer and involves more people than a typical advisory firm. You will need patience and a real understanding of how institutions operate. You will not be doing this alone. You get a Practibuddy from day one, a team that solves hard problems together, and direct partnership with Sales and the Head of Revenue on account strategy.

The Growth Part

We promote from within and we mean it. You will have executive exposure that is hard to find at larger companies, a Learnbucks stipend to keep building your craft, and a leadership team that wants to see you grow into whatever is next, whether that is a bigger book, a leadership track, or deeper specialization in the institutional space.

What We're Really Looking For

The Must-Haves
• 7 to 10 years in client-facing account management, strategic customer success, or senior relationship management, with a track record owning complex or enterprise accounts.
• Substantial experience in financial services, or strong, demonstrable working knowledge of wealth management, enterprise Registered Investment Advisor, trust company, or institutional firm dynamics.
• A real retention and expansion track record. You can point to relationships you kept healthy and grew.
• Comfort and credibility in executive and C-suite conversations, and the judgment to navigate governance, compliance, procurement, and fiduciary complexity.

The Nice-to-Haves
• Direct experience working with banks, trust companies, or bank-affiliated advisory practices.
• Familiarity with the Salesforce ecosystem or wealthtech platforms.
• Experience orchestrating cross-functional teams on multi-stakeholder, project-managed engagements.
• Experience leading change management and driving platform adoption across multi-stakeholder organizations.

The More Important Stuff

We care about how you think and how you treat people. We are looking for someone who is genuinely curious about a client's business, who is honest even when the message is hard, and who can stay calm and organized when an engagement gets complicated. If you are the kind of person who reads the room, builds trust quietly, and follows through, you will do well here.

What Taking This Leap Gets You

The Practical Stuff
• Base salary of $105,000 to $125,000, plus a performance-based variable component tied to client renewals and expansion opportunities. Starting pay within the range reflects your skills, experience, and location, and we are transparent about it because clarity inspires trust.
• 20 days Paid Leave, 10 sick days, 3 personal days, and 3 volunteering days, all available from day one.
• $1,000 annual Learnbucks education stipend and a genuine commitment to promoting from within.

The Cultural Stuff
• A Practibuddy mentor from your first day so you are never figuring things out alone.
• Bi-annual summits in Chicago where the whole company comes together in person.
• A remote-first culture built on trust, an active and human Slack community, and real work-life integration.

Living Our Values Daily
• Growth: Progress with purpose, through Learnbucks, internal promotion, and continuous learning.
• Collaboration: Together we achieve more, through our paired model and open, cross-functional teamwork.
• Transparency: Clarity inspires trust, starting with the salary range you are reading right now.
• Curiosity: Open minds ignite change, so questions and experimentation are encouraged here.
• Integrity: Integrity leads, actions follow, in how we treat clients and each other.

Ready to Join Our Community?

This role sits within Client Success on the Revenue side of the business and partners closely with Sales and the Head of Revenue. It is remote-first within the United States, and we have a slight preference for candidates in Central or Eastern time zones to stay close to our clients. Start date is flexible. If this sounds like you, we would love to meet you.

One Last Thing

We're not just hiring an Account Manager. We're adding someone to our community who will become the trusted face of Practifi for the clients who matter most to our future. If that responsibility excites you rather than intimidates you, you might be exactly who we are looking for.
