Account Manager, Post-Acute Care

About the Role

McKesson Medical-Surgical is seeking an Account Manager, Post-Acute Care to grow and manage customer relationships throughout Minnesota. In this remote field-based role, you will partner with long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, home health, hospice, and other post-acute care providers to deliver medical-surgical products, equipment, and solutions that improve patient outcomes and support clinical operations.

You will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, expanding existing accounts, and serving as a trusted advisor to healthcare customers. Success in this role requires strong prospecting skills, consultative selling expertise, and the ability to build lasting customer relationships across a defined territory.

What You'll Do
  • Manage and grow a territory of post-acute care customers and prospects.
  • Develop new business through prospecting, networking, cold calling, and lead generation activities.
  • Build strategic relationships with decision-makers across long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, home health, hospice, and related healthcare organizations.
  • Conduct customer business reviews and identify opportunities to improve operational and supply chain outcomes.
  • Present and sell medical-surgical products, equipment, and healthcare solutions using a consultative sales approach.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service agreements to achieve sales and profitability goals.
  • Retain and expand existing customer relationships through exceptional account management and customer service.
  • Partner with internal teams to deliver effective product, service, and implementation solutions.
  • Maintain accurate customer activity, pipeline, and opportunity data within Salesforce CRM.
  • Consistently achieve or exceed territory sales objectives.


Basic Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of professional sales experience.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.


Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience selling into post-acute care settings, including:
    • Long-Term Care (LTC)
    • Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF)
    • Rehabilitation Facilities
    • Home Health
    • Hospice
    • Durable Medical Equipment (DME)
    • Wound Care
  • Healthcare distribution, medical device, medical supply, or healthcare services sales experience.
  • Proven success exceeding sales quotas and revenue goals.
  • Experience with consultative selling, account planning, and customer business reviews.
  • Salesforce CRM experience.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced sales environment.


Travel, Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Remote, field-based position. Candidates must reside within the assigned Minnesota territory.
  • Frequent local travel within the territory is required; limited overnight travel is expected.
  • Regular use of a computer, phone, and other standard business equipment.
  • Ability to travel by automobile to customer locations throughout the territory.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Total Target Cash (TTC) Pay Range for this position:

$126,900 - $211,500

Total Target Cash (TTC) is defined as base pay plus target incentive.
