Full Job Description
We have a new position open for our ingredients division as an experienced savory Account Manager / Business Development Manager for the West Coast! This Account Manager is responsible for selling the company's products and services by calling on new and current SAVORY customers. This position will focus on the Western United States, including Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. The role is primarily a business development position with responsibility for expanding MANE Kancor's presence and driving growth across spice extracts, oleoresins, natural colors, antioxidant systems, essential oils, and functional ingredients. The successful candidate will interact with Customers, Internal Personnel, all Internal Departments, Senior Management, and MANE Affiliates. Key competencies include Project and Time Management, Professionalism and Leadership, Communication and Presentation Skills, Customer Relationships, Self-Management, Adaptability, and New Business Development.

This is a remote position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sell company products and services by calling on prospective and established customers.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans that accelerate new business and drive territory growth.
  • Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities throughout the Western United States.
  • Promote MAKA's portfolio of spice extracts, oleoresins, natural colors, antioxidant systems, essential oils, and functional ingredients.
  • Develop sales based on existing and new contacts.
  • Meet sales and profitability targets.
  • Determine priority and effort given to each account based on sales potential and strategy.
  • Maintain sales programs and keep customers informed about available services, pricing, and new products.
  • Leverage internal relationships and competencies to achieve account and territory growth.
  • Develop opportunities with food manufacturers, seasoning companies, ingredient processors, and flavor houses.
  • Focus on strategic growth regions including the Oregon/Idaho food processing corridor and other key Western U.S. markets.
  • Be expert in understanding the business needs, products, and people of target accounts to best execute account strategies.
  • Write measurable yearly goals and objectives aligned with senior management objectives.
  • Represent MANE at industry trade shows, customer meetings, and industry associations.
  • Monitor competitive activity and market trends.
  • Coordinate efforts with MANE affiliates as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; MBA or advanced technical degree desired.
  • Preferred 4-7 years of food ingredient sales experience.
  • Experience selling spice extracts, oleoresins, natural colors, antioxidant systems, seasonings, essential oils, and/or functional ingredients.
  • Technical background is an advantage.
  • Experience in the flavor, seasoning, ingredient, or food manufacturing industries desired.
  • Demonstrated success developing new business and building territories.
  • Willing to travel approximately 30-40% throughout the Western United States; occasional international travel may be required.
  • Working knowledge of flavors, seasonings, extracts, natural colors, antioxidants, and other food ingredients.
  • Computer literate - MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Salesforce
