Account Manager - Downstream Chemicals

As a Account Manager - Downstream Chemicals - Houston, TXyou will be responsible for managing customer relationships, supporting account growth, and delivering solutions that create value for customers and the business. You will work closely with customers, technical experts, account representatives, and internal stakeholders to understand business requirements, identify opportunities, and ensure the successful execution of commercial and technical initiatives.

As a Account Manager - Downstream Chemicals - Houston, TX, you will be responsible for:

  • Building and maintaining long-term strategic relationships with customers through effective account management.

  • Understanding customer business objectives, operational requirements, and growth opportunities to identify potential sales opportunities.

  • Developing trusted partnerships with key customer stakeholders and serving as a primary point of contact.

  • Identifying, coordinating, and collaborating with internal teams to drive projects, technical sales initiatives, and innovative customer solutions.

  • Supporting the development and execution of account growth strategies to achieve business objectives.

  • Managing the day-to-day operations of existing refinery chemical process business activities within assigned customer accounts.

  • Working closely with technicians, account representatives, and operational teams to ensure customer requirements are met.

  • Developing, delivering, and leading business reviews, technical presentations, and commercial discussions with customers and internal stakeholders.

  • Communicating customer needs and market insights to help drive continuous improvement and business growth.

  • Monitoring account performance and identifying opportunities to improve customer satisfaction and operational effectiveness.

  • Supporting commercial activities, opportunity development, and account planning efforts.

  • Ensuring effective communication and collaboration between customers and internal teams.

  • Following established Sales and Service Standards to ensure compliance and consistent service delivery.

  • Maintaining accurate account information, activity documentation, and customer engagement records.

  • Promoting a customer-focused culture while supporting business goals and operational excellence.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.

  • Have experience in Sales, Account Management, Customer Success, Business Development, or a related commercial role.

  • Demonstrate experience building and managing strategic customer relationships.

  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and credibility with customers and colleagues.

  • Have experience supporting technical sales activities and customer-focused solutions.
