What we are looking for:

Yazaki North America, is looking for a Account Manager to join our Honda team in Canton, MI. The ideal candidate will work with commercial and technical organizations in establishing price strategies (commercial) and competitive product levels (technical). The candidate will develop sales price and quotes to customers. The candidate will manage/maintain price strategies affecting profit by communicating/coordinating with management and negotiate/settle issues with customer. The ideal candidate will support management in coordination and business planning meetings.

What you will be doing:
  • Pricing Strategy:
    • Elaborate or revise a pricing strategy on specific products.
  • Pricing Inquiries:
    • Respond to inquiries from company and customer personnel regarding pricing issues.
  • Profitability Analysis, Improvement & Execution:
    • Prepare expense evaluations and comparisons of profitability by product or product line.
    • Recommend costing and overall profit improvement ideas.
    • Recommend profit improvement implementation plans.
  • Tooling:
    • Manage the tooling costs associated with quote to customer for new business (production and prototype). Recover tooling cost for engineering changes.
  • Trade Shows/Technical Meetings:
    • Prepare for and participate in trade shows or technical meetings for the purpose of building business relationships. (Rare occurrence)
  • Selling:
    • Meet with, or in other ways communicate with customers for the purpose of selling company image.
  • Customer Inquiries:
    • Respond to customer or potential customer requests for information and/or problem solving.
  • Quotation Requests:
    • Respond to customer inquiries for product price quotations.
  • Sales Request:
    • Coordinate and communicate customer inquiries internally.
  • Pricing Implementation:
    • Implement price increases and/or develop price sheets.
  • Sales Forecasting:
    • Provide supporting information for short and long term forecasts.
  • Obtain Customer's Vehicle Production Plan:
    • Obtain unofficial information from customer to aid in planning. (Obtaining production plan is done in conjunction with branch Planning Dept.)
  • Other Internal Liaison:
    • Act as a liaison between sales and other non-sales functions.
  • Customer Complaints:
    • Administer customer complaints; includes responding to complaints and associated reporting.
  • Decision Making:
    • Make business decisions that may affect day-to-day and financial operations of the division.
  • Indirect Supervision:
    • Verify, plan, direct, and control the work of indirect reports (i.e., associates who report elsewhere, but provide support to the objectives of your department.) This may include supervision of outside contractors.
  • Organization Meetings:
    • Attend staff, departmental, or unit committee meetings.
  • Speech/Presentation Delivery:
    • Deliver speeches and/or presentations to internal/external organizations or entities.
  • ISO 16949:
    • Contribute to the standardization of processes. Promote awareness and understanding of ISO 16949 compliance.
  • Self-Development:
    • Attend workshops, seminars, or conferences to enhance job-related skills.
  • Error Correction:
    • All work associated with correcting errors in reports or documents.
  • Document Processing - Miscellaneous:
    • Complete and process applications or forms (excluding documents required by law).
  • Special Projects:
    • Includes work on a project (typically non-recurring basis and rare occurrence).


What you will bring to the table:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering or adjacent discipline required
  • 5+ years of automotive sales or business development experience with Global OEMs
  • Wire harness and power electronic experience preferred
  • Ability to travel both domestically & internationally as required
  • Ability to be on call as needed to support meetings outside regular hours
