Full Job Description
This position reports to:
Vice-President Sales - South Region

As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for selling low and medium voltage products, solutions & services in the Rio Grande Valley / Corpus Christi trade area in accordance with the greater Industry, Buildings & Channel (IBC) strategy. Expectations in this role are to build long term relationships with targeted contractors, distributors, consultants & end-users as well as managing resolutions to specific customer needs & issues. This person will also identify and develop sales opportunities within the construction market.

Candidates for this role must be located within the Territory (Rio Grande Valley / Corpus Christi) and be able to travel an estimated 25% through region. #LI-Remote

Job Responsibilities:
  • Sells products/systems/services to customers, focusing on volume, mix and profitability targets for assigned Business Units/Product Groups.
  • Establishes and maintains effective customer relationships to understand customer needs, promote customer understanding of full product/systems/ services offering, and align to provide a solution.
  • Prepares sales plans using company tools. Performs regular status reviews and proposes recovery plan(s) in cases of potential order shortfalls.
  • Collaborate across business lines to help leverage ABB's entire product portfolio.
  • Prepares offers in accordance with customer contract documents (plans & specs), and in collaboration with proposal department, factory & pricing team.


Job Qualifications:
  • BS Degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering or industrial engineering (or similar) strongly preferred. Candidates without a degree but commensurate experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum two years sales experience in electrical industry, preferably in commercial, industrial and multi-family markets.
  • Salesforce experience is preferred
  • Experience with technical presentations, oral communication abilities in person and over the phone, drafting professionally written emails and technical documents is important.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $68,600 and $109,760 annually and is bonus eligible.
