Full Job Description
This position reports to:
Area Sales Manager

As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for sales of products, solutions & services in the San Antonio, TX trade areas in accordance with the greater Industry, Buildings & Channel (IBC) strategy. Build long term relationships with targeted contractors, distributors, consultants & end-users. Manage resolution to specific customer needs & issues. Identify and develop sales opportunities within the construction market.

While this is a remote position, candidates must be located in the following trade areas: San Antonio, TX

Job Responsibilities:
  • Sells products/systems/services to customers, focusing on volume, mix and profitability targets for assigned Business Units/Product Groups.
  • Establishes and maintains effective customer relationships to understand customer needs, promote customer understanding of full product/systems/ services offering, and align to provide a solution.
  • Prepares sales plans using company tools. Performs regular status reviews and proposes recovery plan(s) in cases of potential order shortfalls.
  • Collaborate across business lines to help leverage ABB's entire product portfolio.
  • Prepares offers in accordance with customer contract documents (plans & specs), and in collaboration with proposal department, factory & pricing team.


Job Qualifications:
  • BS Degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering or industrial engineering (or similar) strongly preferred. Candidates without a degree but commensurate experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum two years sales experience in electrical industry, preferably in commercial, industrial and multi-family markets.
  • Salesforce experience is preferred
  • Experience with technical presentations, oral communication abilities in person and over the phone, drafting professionally written emails and technical documents is important.
  • Ability to travel throughout the trade area as needed.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $83,300 and $133,280 annually and is bonus eligible.
