Full Job Description
Montreal, Canada • 4 days/week in office • OTE $110,000 - $130,000

We sell bees and nature. To people who own and operate buildings worth billions of dollars.

That sentence still sounds slightly absurd to us too, which is part of the point. Alvéole sits at an intersection almost nobody else occupies: hardware and software, a living product and a data platform, an actual beekeeper showing up at 6am and a sustainability director opening a dashboard before her board meeting. Our customers don't just buy from us; they tell people about us, unprompted, at conferences, in board meetings, to the tenant walking by the rooftop who wants to know what those little wooden boxes are.

Here's the part most people don't clock right away: the buildings we work in aren't quirky side projects for our clients, they're core holdings. Next time someone mentions their RRSP, ask them where the money actually sits. A meaningful chunk of it is funneled into the same office towers, industrial parks, and mixed-use portfolios we're hanging hives on. Our customers, in a roundabout way, help run the world's money, and increasingly, they need a defensible story about what they're doing with the ground beneath those buildings. That story is what we sell.
What makes this job challenging

Nobody hands you an ROI calculator. There's no spreadsheet that tells an asset manager exactly what a beehive is worth to their NOI, because that's not really the sale. You're translating biodiversity and tenant experience into language a VP of Sustainability, a Director of Asset Management, and a property-level Operator can each separately hear as relevant. And doing it with story, not a formula.

You're learning three fields at once. Biodiversity & nature in cities, commercial real estate market, and ESG reporting frameworks - all in your first few months. It's a steep climb. The upside: because almost nobody in the room has heard our pitch before, people are curious, they usually take the meeting. A saturated category doesn't offer you that.

Every stakeholder speaks a different language. A discovery call with a property manager barely resembles the conversation you'll have with a VP overseeing a multi-billion-dollar portfolio, even when they're about the exact same building. Multithreading isn't a nice-to-have technique here, it's the only way anything closes.

Experience alone won't get you all the way there. Some of what this job asks for can't be taught by two years of quota-carrying elsewhere: the speed to adapt to real variety across markets and stakeholders, and being genuinely customer-first when there's no finished playbook to hide behind.
The unexpected upside

Your teammates will check in on you. A lot. Not because anyone's watching over your shoulder but because our culture is built on continuous, daily connection. We're deeply invested in each other's day-to-day success.

The co-founders might beat you to the rooftop. They care deeply about a specific set of accounts, and when they do, they show up, put boots on, and get their hands dirty right next to you. The stories they tell afterward have a way of permanently changing how you think about this product. The best thing you can do is pay attention and take it all in.

Nothing here is officially yours, and everything is. We don't carve up accounts into tidy, exclusive territories. No one "owns" a client the way AEs sometimes do elsewhere. But any account in this business is yours the moment you decide to pick it up and run with it - the only real constraint is your own initiative.
The role

We're scaling a mid-market and institutional motion alongside our proven SMB business, and we're looking for a driven AE to own the sales cycle from discovery through close for institutional investors, REITs, and regional or national portfolio owners.

You'd join a small but mighty AE team in Montreal, reporting to the Sales Manager, with real input into how this motion gets built and direct mentorship from our co-founders as you grow into the role. You'll start by learning to navigate VP and senior-Director-level conversations, translating ESG and tenant-experience value into the financial language asset managers actually think in - NOI, cap rates, TI allowances - with the runway to take on full portfolio ownership as you build a track record.

We back you with a strong BDR bench (targeting a 1.5-2:1 BDR-to-AE ratio) and real inbound demand - roughly a third of our new revenue comes from inbound today. That said, you're expected to actively build your own pipeline through land-and-expand within existing accounts, not rely on sourcing alone.
You'll own
  • The full mid-market sales cycle, from discovery to signed contract, for institutional/REIT accounts
  • Multithreaded relationships across Operators, Sustainability Leads, and Asset Managers, anchoring every conversation in financial outcomes
  • Portfolio expansion strategy: turning a single-property win into a national account
  • Accurate pipeline and forecasting in HubSpot, with a focus on high-accuracy projections for quarterly growth
What you bring
  • 2+ years in SaaS or PropTech sales, with a demonstrated track record of exceeding quota and a hunger to move upmarket into institutional/REIT accounts
  • Early experience or exposure building relationships with senior stakeholders (Director-level+), with clear coachability toward C-suite and VP-level selling
  • Working knowledge of consultative frameworks (MEDDICC, SPICED, Challenger Sale), with willingness to deepen this under mentorship
  • Comfort learning the language of NOI, cap rates, and tenant improvement allowances. You don't need to speak it fluently on day one, but you're excited to
  • HubSpot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, call-recording tools; comfort with AI-assisted prospecting
  • French fluency: strong asset
Who thrives here

Ambitious AEs early in their career who want to fast-track into C-suite selling rather than spend years climbing through SMB. People who treat rejection as data, not defeat. Curious operators who track ESG and CRE trends because they genuinely find them interesting, not because it's in the job description. We back that ambition with real mentorship and tools like pclub.io - but the people who grow fastest here take the wheel on their own development instead of waiting for a finished, low-supervision role to be handed to them.

This is a seat for someone who wants to be closing six-figure portfolio deals within 18 to 24 months by driving their own development, not waiting for one to be built for them.
Compensation & what we offer
  • OTE $110,000-$130,000 (base + uncapped commission), with a clear path to base salary growth
  • Comprehensive health benefits from Day 1
  • Generous and flexible PTO policy
  • Lunch provided 3 days/week, plus fully stocked snacks and drinks
  • A beautiful office at Saint-Laurent and Mont-Royal, arguably one of the best views in Montreal, steps from Mont-Royal Metro
  • You'll be expected to travel to meet clients in person at least once per quarter
