Account Executive II - ReadyAPI
  • Drive net new business growth and expansion opportunities for ReadyAPI, SmartBear's industry-leading API testing platform.
  • Partner with development, QA, and DevOps teams to modernize API testing and accelerate software delivery.

About the role

As an Account Executive II you will:
  • Develop net new business relationships through inbound leads, outbound prospecting, and strategic account outreach.
  • Drive expansion opportunities within existing accounts by increasing adoption of ReadyAPI across engineering, QA, and DevOps organizations.
  • Consult with customers on API testing strategies, automation initiatives, and digital transformation efforts to position SmartBear solutions effectively.
  • Manage a mix of transactional and enterprise sales opportunities across a defined territory.
  • Build trusted relationships with technical stakeholders, managers, and executive decision-makers.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales Engineering, Customer Success, Marketing, and Product teams to drive customer success and revenue growth.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline management and forecasting within Salesforce and related sales tools.
  • Receive ongoing enablement, coaching, and professional development to accelerate career growth and long-term sales success.

We are looking for you if you have:
  • 1-3 years of software sales experience, preferably selling into technical organizations or developer-focused environments.
  • Experience carrying a quota and consistently achieving KPIs or revenue targets.
  • Strong communication, discovery, and presentation skills with the ability to engage both technical and business audiences.
  • A self-starter mindset with strong accountability and time management skills.
  • Interest in API technologies, software testing, DevOps, or developer tooling.
  • Experience using sales tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, Salesforce, Outreach, or similar platforms.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience.

Your SmartBear total rewards compensation package includes base salary and may also include a commission. The Annual Cash Compensation (Base + On-Target Commission) range for this role is listed below. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, including relevant experience, skills, internal equity, and geographic location.
