GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Account Director (AD) serves as the strategic and executional leader for assigned accounts, responsible for overall retention, growth, and alignment of the agency's efforts with client business goals. The AD oversees and helps support the development and execution of comprehensive marketing campaigns, while fostering senior-level client relationships. As a trusted partner, the AD consistently seeks new opportunities for growth, ensuring the agency delivers high-value, creative solutions that exceed client expectations. The role involves cross-departmental collaboration, leading internal teams, while helping the account team meet client deliverables. Account Directors are business unit leaders, with ultimate responsibility for the success of an account.

RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):

All lawful directives of your supervisor or a member of Company management.

  • Serving as the primary relationship manager for senior client stakeholders, providing strategic guidance, proactive communication, and ensuring the successful execution of marketing campaigns.
  • Leading the development of marketing strategies and plans, aligning them with client business objectives using data-driven insights and market expertise to drive growth.
  • Developing creative briefs and direct creative groups in producing marketing materials that meet client goals and expectations.
  • Provide executional support to the account team by mentoring the current staff or acting as a backup to managing the day-to-day deliverables.
  • Review results to determine the recommended marketing plans for continued optimization.
  • Leading client meetings, creative reviews, results read-outs and QBRs.
  • Managing the financial health of accounts by overseeing budgets, forecasting, and ensuring accounts remain in good standing per the agreed upon billing terms.
  • Identifying opportunities for organic growth by recommending new programs and services, while proactively addressing client needs with innovative marketing solutions.
  • Fostering the professional development of team members through mentoring, performance feedback, and providing clear career growth paths.
  • Participating in the recruitment and evaluation of new talent, contributing to the hiring process by reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, and providing feedback.
  • Maintaining a pulse on internal workflows and processes to ensure the smooth execution of projects and the alignment of resources with team capabilities.


ACCOUNT DIRECTORS ARE EXPECTED TO:

  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building trust and rapport with clients.
  • Possess outstanding attention to detail and the ability to manage time effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Have knowledge of data and how it can be used to drive both strategy and creative.
  • Look for ways to improve and promote the quality and effectiveness of our work.
  • Travel to meet with clients in person as needed.
  • Be available beyond standard working hours when necessary.
  • Learn and work in proprietary systems and software as necessary to complete job functions.

For New York, the expected salary range for this position is between $150,000 and $180,000. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law.
