Account Director - Retail

What does the Account Management team do?

Our account teams consist of dedicated professionals who provide best-in-class client leadership for today's leading retailers and brands. Their primary focus is to understand our clients' business objectives and translate them into successful outcomes across various retail merchandising initiatives. These initiatives include managing the development and distribution of merchandising and point-of-sale materials, retail media, and providing support for field sales, operators, and distributors. In overseeing the day-to-day management of each client's business, our account teams are responsible for delivering results aligned with annual IMS P&L targets. Every member of the account team plays a clearly defined role that contributes directly to achieving the annual budget objectives.

What's the opportunity?

This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, driving process efficiencies and cost savings, aligning with client needs across multiple stakeholder groups, and expanding & improving a global supply chain approach to managing merchandising materials.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of IMS employees in the seamless delivery of client merchandising programs to support the client's retail marketing plans


  • Open role: Retail Industry


  • Develop and mentor a team of account management experts ensuring a strong understanding of:


  • IMS business process, employee position training and job execution


  • Strong understanding of IMS workflow with an ongoing pursuit to drive best practices and efficiency within the IMS organization


  • Knowledge of the key IMS systems and technology platforms and the ability to leverage and enhance these tools for productivity


  • Develop, manage and monitor client KPIs for; utilize analytical skills to demonstrate opportunities to drive improvements in the process


  • Partner closely with key client stakeholders to deliver existing assignment and determine growth opportunities


  • Gain intimate understanding of client's respective industry and brands in order to be a strategic partner across client initiatives


  • Present strategic business building services/ideas to senior level client contacts


  • Manage client or other IMS department expectations and goals, reworking unreasonable demands into positive achievable outputs.


  • Build credible relationships with peers and other functional teams within IMS and act as key strategic partner across Sourcing, Campaign, Logistics, Analytics, Creative, Finance and our IMS Clients


  • Understand key financial drivers for IMS and our clients; identify and collaborate efficiency initiatives that benefit IMS and/or the client


  • Support the Business Runner with the annual budgeting process and monthly forecasting submissions


  • Assist in various special projects as assigned by the Business Runner
