Position Highlights

The Center for Semiconductor Manufacturing at the University of Arizona is looking for a Academic Programs Officer IV. The semiconductor field is quickly evolving and thus new approaches that incorporate active learning strategies, coupled with interactive XR modules, digital twins and AI driven assessments will have to be developed to ensure engagement of the learner. The successful candidate will develop a comprehensive curriculum that addresses the educational pathway for semiconductor manufacturing, spanning from high schools to community colleges through to graduate school. This curriculum development initiative aims to bridge the gap in chip manufacturing education and ensure a seamless transition from students pursuing careers in this rapidly evolving field.

This is a temporary position with an end date of September 30, 2026

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Design and develop an integrated curriculum for external learners focusing on chip manufacturing, incorporating the latest advancements and technologies in the field.
  • Collaborate with faculty from high schools, community colleges, undergraduate, and graduate programs to ensure the curriculum meets the educational and professional needs of students at each level.
  • Implement effective pedagogical strategies for various learning environments and student backgrounds, with a particular attention to distance learning and the use of virtual reality platforms.
  • Evaluate and assess the effectiveness of the curriculum, making adjustments based on feedback and emerging industry trends.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of the latest educational technologies and methodologies for effective teaching and learning.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
