Contract Dates: November 2026 - November 2027Position SummaryWe are looking for a self-starter to join our Financial Planning team. As Academic Planning Analyst, you will draw upon your experience in data analytics and insights to create value in data-driven decision making and provide support to the College budget processes.
Reporting to the Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis, you will play a key role to interpret business and operational data through data collection, data management, analysis, data story-telling and visualization, and reporting writing for regular and ad-hoc projects. You will be responsible for a wide range of services as they relate to enrolment and funding, program analysis and evaluation. You will coordinate and collaborate with multiple stakeholders and respond to complex requests for data and analysis to inform planning, evaluation, operational improvements, predictive analysis and other decision-making processes in line with College's strategic plan.
Responsibilities - Builds, implements and maintains data models for internal and external requests
- Identifies, investigates and resolves any data errors or inconsistencies
- Performs comprehensive analysis and projections for enrolment planning, forecasting and monitoring process
- Supports program review, develop costing methodologies, and conduct efficiency analysis to support the continuous improvement of the Academic budget process
- Develop dashboards, presentation, and other reports using data visualization and story-telling technics
- Maintain the planning application tool and support the implementation of upgrades
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders; provide planning support and guidance to budget holders
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Experience - Four (4) year degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics or related quantitative discipline
- 3 to 5 years of demonstrated experience in data modelling and analytics, whether through professional employment, academic research, capstone projects, internships, or other comparable project-based work.
- Experience with data visualization and dashboard reporting
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, and other data analytics tools, e.g. Power BI
- Ability to work with raw data and manipulate large datasets with high competency
- Strong communication (verbal/written) skills; ability to communicate complex data with a non-technical audience
- Experience with Workday Adaptive Planning is an asset
- Strong interpersonal and customer service orientation
- Quick learner who grasps new concepts and techniques quickly
- Strong problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to manage competing deadlines and changing priorities
- Strong understanding and commitment to the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion
