Description

The appointee will work closely with departmental and clinical leadership to support daily ED operations, patient throughput, clinical quality initiatives, and operational standardization across the CCD ED. Responsibilities will include assisting with physician staffing and scheduling operations, supporting quality and patient safety initiatives, participating in faculty mentoring and performance improvement efforts, and contributing to multidisciplinary collaboration with nursing, hospital administration, and ancillary services to enhance emergency care delivery.

In addition, the appointee will contribute to emergency department data analytics and operational reporting efforts. This includes assisting with the development and interpretation of operational dashboards, physician productivity and quality metrics, throughput analyses, and other data-driven initiatives intended to improve clinical efficiency, patient outcomes, and strategic decision-making. The appointee will be expected to collaborate with departmental leadership on process improvement initiatives and operational assessments using clinical and financial performance data.

The appointee will also participate in the academic missions of the Section, including resident and medical student education, mentorship, and scholarly activity consistent with the expectations of an academic faculty appointment.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, and 3) be board-certified or eligible in Emergency Medicine.
