Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.

This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, and engineers perform as an AC power systems engineer for ground systems. You will design, develop, and test AC power systems for ground-based infrastructure like launch ranges, substations, or test facilities.

The selected candidate applies broad multi-disciplinary engineering (mechanical and electrical/electronic) knowledge, skills, and methods as well as computer/software systems to design and engineer the overall systems infrastructure including engineering, implementation and integration, and technical services and support. Designs, implements, installs, maintains, and administers infrastructures including hardware, software, and various configurations. Monitors overall performance to proactively identify potential issues and tune them appropriately. Performs root cause analysis on failed components and implements corrective measures. • Creating electrical schematics
  • Overseeing installation and commissioning, with a focus on compliance with standards and ensuring reliability in harsh environments.
  • Risk management: Perform risk assessments, hazard analyses, and failure mode and effects analyses (FMEA).
  • Design and analysis: Create detailed electrical designs for power distribution, control systems, and lightning protection.
  • Troubleshooting and maintenance: Investigate and resolve power-related issues, support ongoing maintenance, and provide real-time support during critical operations.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, control diagrams, and operational manuals.
  • Compliance and quality: Ensure designs and installations comply with industry standards, codes (e.g., IEEE, NESC), and project-specific requirements.
  • Power systems studies: Conduct load flow analysis, short-circuit studies, and grounding studies to ensure system performance and safety
