YOUR OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting Automation Engineering Supervisor opportunity in our Guymon processing facility. In this highly impactful role, you will lead a team of automation specialists who are responsible for supporting all automation equipment installations, routine preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs in a fresh pork processing facility that processes over 21,500 animals per day. This position provides oversight and supervision to ensure activities and tasks are completed and improved and maximizes department efficiencies, workflow optimization, and staffing deployment. Ensures all maintenance and preventive maintenance activities conducted by the automation team adhere to all workplace and food safety protocols.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Applies a systematic approach and engineering principles such as lean manufacturing to ensure equipment is monitored, issues are diagnosed adequately, and repairs and preventive maintenance on automated equipment are performed according to an established schedule.
  • Supervises a team that interprets work orders and specifications to determine if the automated equipment requires replacement, repair, or general maintenance.
  • Responsible for department efficiencies. Investigate, identify, and resolve operational constraints in the process and eliminate and minimize bottlenecks to prevent operational downtime.
  • Analyzes daily data for department processes and equipment to ensure operations are performed consistently.
  • Ensures the technician team performs tasks and responsibilities according to the established standard operating procedures and checklists.
  • Ensures the department is prepared and set up daily for maximum efficiency.
  • Demonstrates a clear understanding of key performance indicators and their impact on operations.
  • Monitor work schedules to ensure manning meets the established standard to meet the daily schedule attainment. Ensures accurate record of staffing and time worked.
  • Supervise all employees, monitoring work performance, directing work, ensuring accurate timekeeping, and ensuring team members are trained and qualified and performing duties safely.
  • Communicates, at a high level, with plant operations to ensure the machinery and equipment operate safely and efficiently.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • College degree in an engineering field or more than four (4) years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing facility
  • Excellent computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in the English language, including the ability to communicate with team members at all levels within the organization and regulatory agencies
  • Experience with ADP eTime, preferred but not required
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical designs, installations, maintenance, repairs, electrical, and automated controls.
  • Ability to solve problems by using theoretical knowledge in the field of discipline and critical thinking skills

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility and primarily will be on the production floor.
  • The employee must regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 75 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • This position is primarily on the production floor and will have limited office time.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment requires you to always wear hearing protection on the production floor.
  • The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. After-hours, weekends, and overnight travel as requested.
