Full Job Description
The Director of Human Resources, Risk & Compliance is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing Human Resources, compliance, and risk management functions across Spectra Gutter Systems. Reporting to the VP of Finance, this role partners closely with executive leadership to support business growth, strengthen organizational effectiveness, ensure regulatory compliance, and mitigate operational and employment-related risk.

This position provides leadership for all aspects of Human Resources while overseeing programs and initiatives designed to protect company assets, support sound business practices, and promote a safe, compliant, and high-performing workplace across a nationwide, multi-location organization.

Core Areas of Responsibility:

Human Resources Leadership
• Lead the company's Human Resources function, including employee relations, compliance, performance management, talent development, and organizational effectiveness.
• Partner with executive leadership on workforce planning, succession planning, employee engagement, and organizational growth initiatives.
• Develop and maintain HR policies, programs, and governance practices across a multi-location organization.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the HR team while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Risk, Compliance & Insurance
• Oversee enterprise risk management, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance initiatives.
• Manage insurance programs, broker relationships, renewals, and claims administration.
• Monitor regulatory developments and implement policies and controls designed to reduce organizational risk.
• Support internal audits, compliance reviews, and risk assessments.

Workers' Compensation & Safety
• Oversee workers' compensation programs, return-to-work initiatives, and claims management.
• Partner with operational leaders to strengthen workplace safety programs, reduce incidents, and support OSHA compliance efforts.
• Analyze claims and safety trends to identify opportunities for improvement and risk reduction.

Strategic Leadership
• Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on Human Resources, compliance, and risk-related matters.
• Collaborate with Operations, Finance, and Branch Leadership to support business objectives and drive organizational performance.
• Establish departmental goals, metrics, and reporting processes.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on compliance, efficiency, employee experience, and risk reduction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Risk Management, Finance, or a related field.
  • Seven (7)+ years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources, Risk Management, Compliance, or related disciplines.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, employee relations, workers' compensation, insurance administration, and compliance programs.
  • Experience supporting multi-location operations.
  • Proven ability to influence and partner with senior leaders.
  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

  • SHRM-SCP, SPHR, ARM, CRM, CPCU, or similar professional certification.
  • Experience within manufacturing, distribution, logistics, construction products, or industrial environments.
  • Experience supporting organizations operating across multiple states.
  • Experience leading organizational change and process improvement initiatives
