Full Job Description
Overview

Lutron has an immediate need for a 3D Producer to join the Communications team at our New York City office location. This pivotal operational role will manage the execution of trade show experiences, oversee rendering initiatives, and pioneer experimental VR and AR projects. As the operational leader of our 3D functional team, you will orchestrate complex projects across many workstreams: creative development, modeling, rendering, and physical construction/fabrication. You will manage a team of specialized designers including our 3D Lead for built environments, rendering specialists (Product & Environmental), and external partners while collaborating closely with the creative leadership to build innovative visual experiences that showcase Lutron's industry-leading lighting control and shading solutions.

The ideal candidate possesses a unique combination of creative project management expertise, deep understanding of construction/fabrication processes, and modeling & rendering technology. You must be able to effectively manage the intersection of creative vision and physical build reality, ensuring seamless alignment between design teams and third-party construction vendors. This is not a role for traditional creative producers alone-success requires bilingual fluency in both creative processes and construction logistics as well as an interest in rendering as image representation.

Responsibilities

Multi-Stream Project Management
  • Proactively manage simultaneous work streams-creative development and construction/fabrication-ensuring alignment and coordination at all intersection points (large & small)
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans with timelines, milestones, and deliverables across both creative and construction phases
  • Manage project budgets-from estimating, issuing POs to final invoicing (always striving to stay under-budget)
  • Coordinate reviews and alignment between internal creative teams, marketing stakeholders, and third-party construction vendors including exhibit design agencies, fabricators, and AV integrators
  • Proactively manage the handoff points between concept, schematic, design, build, delivery, and breakdown phases
  • Ensure construction vendors understand design intent and that design teams understand fabrication constraints and timelines

Trade Show & Built Environment Oversight
  • Manage the planning, design, and execution of trade show booths and experiential installations (Project lifecycle)
  • Partner with 3D Lead to translate creative concepts into buildable, high-impact physical environment
  • Manage relationships with third-party integrators and construction vendors
  • Oversee booth logistics, installation schedules, and on-site coordination
  • Ensure all built environments meet brand standards and are delivered on time and within budget
  • Support domestic trade show presence as needed

Rendering & Generated Image Initiative
  • Managing workflows between rendering team and other creative teams throughout lifecycle of project
  • Coordinate with rendering specialists to develop visual assets for marketing communications
  • Ensure rendering projects align with broader marketing objectives and creative strategies
  • Drive quality standards and efficiency in the rendering process

Team Leadership & Management
  • Manage the operations of the 3D functional team: 3D lead, architectural rendering expert, and product rendering expert
  • Manage the team capabilities and foster unity within the New York creative team, COPA team and remote resources

VR/AR Innovation & Experimental Projects
  • Manage prototypes and proof-of-concept experiences with 3D team
  • Build processes and workflows for integrating VR/AR into marketing initiatives
  • Stay current on industry trends in spatial computing, real-time rendering, and immersive experiences
  • Coordinate with creative leadership to build and expand Lutron's VR and AR capabilities [ongoing]

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Industrial Design, Interior Design, Production Design, or related field required
  • If less than 10 years work experience, minimum cumulative 3.00 GPA required
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in creative production with demonstrated progression of responsibility that includes some years of experience managing creative teams and developing talent required
  • Proven experience managing trade shows, experiential installations, or built environments from concept through installation required
  • Demonstrated experience working with third-party construction vendors, exhibit houses, fabricators, and AV integrators required
  • Portfolio demonstrating successful execution of physical installations and/or trade show experiences required
  • Proficiency in project management tools (WorkFront) and communication and design software (Figma) preferred
  • Must be willing and able to travel to exhibition vendors for pre-builds and previews
  • You are authorized to work in the U.S. and will not require Lutron to sponsor you for any work visa, such as an H-1B, either immediately or at any time in the future. Lutron does not offer work visa sponsorship for this position.

Starting pay: $110,000.00 to $135,000.00 per year plus overtime, bonus, and car allowance. Lutron's employee benefits include 401k match, health, dental, and life insurance, paid vacation (amount based on tenure with the company), flexible spending accounts, and tuition reimbursement programs.
