ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you ready to be our newest Flamingo?! We're looking for a 3D Eyewear Designer to join the Innovation and Design team where you get to bring the next generation of performance sunglasses to life. In this role, you'll use your deep 3D modeling skills and borderline unhealthy obsession with product development to ensure our eyewear meets the goodr standards of fun, functional, fashionable, and 'ffordable. This role is a rocket ship for a hands-on designer ready to dive into the technical details and elevate our product line.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the conceptualization and development of new eyewear that nails the four f's: fun, functional, fashionable, and 'ffordable
  • Model complex 3D NURBS geometries with production intent and execute tooling alongside development partners
  • Create photorealistic renderings for design review and approval
  • Collaborate closely with external vendors to guarantee that all products meet exact specifications and launch on schedule
  • Maintain a highly organized digital asset library for all design files, vendor specifications, and technical packets
  • Execute the production and quality assurance of our top sellers by qualifying new and exciting suppliers
  • Conduct rigorous material testing and prototyping to ensure durability and comfort for our flock of consumers
  • Support the execution of strategic initiatives to scale the brand to be one of the largest and most accessible eyewear brands in the world
  • Apply a customer obsessed mindset to design brand touchpoints that solve needs customers didn't know they had until they can't live without them
  • Building systems that turn bold, creative ideas into consistent results and effortless motion
  • This role is in the Innovation and Design team and will report directly to the Director of Innovation and Design
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

ABOUT THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
  • May or may not have a degree...we don't care (bonus points for Basset Hound Science or Dinosaur Law)
  • 4+ years experience in Product Design, Development, and Research
  • Eyewear design experience is highly preferred
  • Master of 3D NURBS Modeling Proficiency, preferably with Rhino, to sculpt the future of goodr specs
  • A wiz with Adobe Creative Suite and Keyshot
  • Proficiency on a Mac and Google Workspace
  • Strong communicator who loves leaning into collaboration
  • Driven by personal growth and thrives in an environment of constant feedback
  • Is proactive and an independent problem solver! (Can you google a question?)
