Job Description

Job Description:

This requisition is open to 2026 Truist Interns only. Applicants who were not 2026 Truist interns will not be considered.

Requisitions open to other external candidates will be posted at a later date if additional positions remain open.

Truist Securities' Corporate and Investment Banking Program begins with up to seven weeks of classroom instruction that consists of an introduction to capital markets, products and services, accounting, corporate finance, systems and financial modeling training designed to give Analysts all the tools they will need to be successful. After the classroom training, Analysts will join a business group and play a meaningful role in supporting senior Sales, Trading & Research professionals.

The Analyst program provides the opportunity to gain exposure to a number of disciplines within Sales, Trading & Research. Assignments will be with one of our Sales, Trading & Research groups listed below, with the opportunity to interact with other groups and disciplines throughout the investment bank. Within each group, Analysts play a meaningful role in supporting internal and external clients.

Equity Research
Equity Research is recommended for individuals with an interest in capital markets. Analysts will be embedded on a team(s) that covers a specific sector, under the watch of a senior research analyst (VP, Director or MD). Each team covers 10-35 stocks and is responsible for publishing research reports and providing "bespoke" content that is utilized by institutional investors during their investment process. Additionally, published material is widely disseminated among the corporate community and industry contacts. The Analyst will support their assigned team during the production and writing of research reports, which include investment recommendations (BUY, SELL or HOLD); this may include: data analysis, building/maintaining financial models, and participation in conference calls with company management teams or institutional clients.

Equity Sales & Trading

The role of an equity salesperson at the core is to distribute and sell the firm's equity research, provide corporate access and capital markets offerings to buy-side clients. Additionally, relationship building is essential to the role. Salespeople aim to help foster connectivity between Research and our clients. Both Sales & Trading work in conjunction with Equity Research to provide value to buy-side clients, which consist of both hedge funds and mutual funds.

The role of an equity sales trader is to facilitate trades on behalf of the customer and consists of both sales traders and position traders. The firm's equity traders work internally with Research & Sales while interacting and executing trades for buy-side counterparts to create value with best execution and to receive payment for the firm's services. Like Equity Sales, developing and maintaining relationships with buy-side counterparts (the 'client') is a key aspect to the job, while skill in trading is essential. Truist is a growing top tier US bank with an expanding Equity Sales and Trading Operation. Currently our Equity trading desk handles high touch and low touch equity trading with an eye to adding capabilities in options, derivatives, and prime brokerage in the future.

Fixed Income Sales & Trading

The Sales, Trading & Research Analyst position is typically a two-year position. At the end of the two-year period, Analysts may be asked to remain in the role for an additional year.
