2027 Summer Internship - Client Solutions & Analytics Analyst, US

Internship positions are located at PIMCO's Newport Beach, CA Headquarters

At PIMCO, the Client Solutions and Analytics ("Solutions") team seeks to generate objective, actionable insights to help our clients improve portfolio outcomes. In pursuit of this goal, the team works closely with a wide spectrum of clients, including Public Pensions, Endowments, Sovereign Wealth funds and financial advisors to understand their needs, analyze their portfolios, and make recommendations. As part of this team, you would partner with account managers, product specialists, and portfolio managers throughout this process and leverage quantitative analyses, financial modeling, data-driven research, and emerging technologies to support the team's efforts.

You're eligible to apply if you:
  • Are pursuing an undergraduate degree with a major in Business/Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering or applied science
  • Must be able to begin full time employment at a PIMCO office between January 2028 - August 2028
  • Must be enrolled at a university during the Fall 2027 semester (August 2027 - December 2027)
  • Have a minimum 3.2 cumulative collegiate grade point average on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent) at an accredited 4-year college or university
  • Are business proficient in English
  • Must be willing to work in Newport Beach, CA

  • An interest in the financial markets, investing, and macroeconomics,
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • An analytical, detail-oriented skill set
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong time management and organization skills
  • The ability to work effectively and professionally with all levels of personnel both internally and externally
  • Demonstrate curiosity and experience in using new emerging technologies and AI tools in your work or school projects to solve problems and drive better outcomes

As a member of the Client Solutions and Analytics Team, you'll have the opportunity to partner with clients and develop expertise across a wide range of asset allocation and portfolio management topics. You will gain a strong understanding of portfolio construction and risk analyses applied across a wide spectrum of partners. You will also gain exposure to the business of investment management across market segments. Responsibilities vary between teams but may include some of the following:
  • Market and economic updates
  • Portfolio commentaries
  • Portfolio construction & analysis
  • Competitor intelligence
  • Client presentation materials
  • Risk and performance attribution

The PIMCO Internship Experience:
  • The PIMCO Internship is a 10-week program that runs from early June to mid-August, with the expectation that you will be available for the full duration of the program
  • During Week 1, you'll participate in PIMCO Fundamentals Training, providing you with the skills, knowledge, and relationships that will prepare you for success
  • Following the first week, you will join your team and work with them on a wide range of projects described in the "See yourself as an Analyst" section
  • In addition to the day-to-day work, you will be asked to complete at least one capstone project over the course of the summer that you will present to the team
  • Alongside your colleagues, participate in PIMCO's Global Month of Volunteering, developed to heighten the impact of our employees' worldwide volunteer efforts

What to expect during the interview process:
  • After we receive your application, we will conduct an initial review of your resume
  • If you are selected to move forward, you will have the opportunity to showcase your interests, skills, and personality by completing a one-way video interview
  • If you are chosen to proceed after the video interview, you will then take a cognitive assessment
  • Once you complete the assessment, you will have a final round of live interviews with us via video conference. These interviews typically include both behavioral and technical questions

PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.

Hourly Rate: $ 43.26
