2027 Spring Intern - Pharmaceutical DevelopmentDepartment SummaryAs part of Pharma Technical Development (PTD), Pharmaceutical Development (PTDU-P) develops safe, innovative, and effective drugs using cutting-edge technologies for formulation, manufacturing process, and analytical development. This internship position is located in South San Francisco, on-site. The Opportunity- Perform analytical testing of stability samples to support drug product representative and predictive stability studies.
- Use thermo-kinetic modeling to evaluate the stability of biotherapeutics.
- Evaluate biophysical characterization techniques (e.g., DSC, DLS, rheometry) as a stability prediction tool.
- Generate high-quality data based on sound scientific principles and document results in electronic lab notebook.
Program Highlights- Intensive 6-month, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.

Who You Are (Required) Required Education: You meet one of the following criteria:
- Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student).
- Must have attained a Bachelor's Degree (not currently enrolled in a graduate program).
- Must be pursuing a Master's Degree (enrolled student).
- Must have attained a Master's Degree.
Preferred Majors: Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Biophysics, or related disciplines.
Required Skills: - Advanced coursework in or experience with physical chemistry, biochemistry, biophysics, thermodynamics, chemical kinetics, data science and/or statistics.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python or R, and/or experience with data querying and manipulation tools (e.g., SQL).
- Hands-on experience with analytical techniques used for protein characterization and stability studies (e.g., U/HPLC, DLS, DSF, electrophoresis).
- Proficiency in lab work and ability to independently design, execute and analyze experiments.

Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting. The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $28.00 - $52.00 per hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
