2027 Spring Intern - Cell Line Development AutomationThe OpportunityYou will be part of a cross-functional team developing automated cell line development (CLD) workflows, with the goal of shortening program timelines. In this role, you will:
- Test proof-of-concept workflows to find where automation gives the most benefit.
- Develop automated methods for the workflows you select.
- Run those methods and evaluate them against the current manual approach.
- Document the methods so others on the team can run them.
- Implement the validated workflow into routine use and present your results to the team.
Program Highlights- Intensive 6 months, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.
- Program start date is in January 2027 (Spring).
- A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.
- Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.
- Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.
Who You Are (Required)Required Education: You meet one of the following criteria:- Must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree
- Must have attained a Bachelor's degree (recent graduates not currently enrolled in a grad program)
- Must be pursuing a Master's degree
- Must have attained a Master's Degree
- Must be pursuing a PhD
Required Majors: Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Biology, Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related life sciences or engineering discipline.
Required Skills:- You have coursework or hands-on experience in a laboratory or life sciences discipline.
- You can troubleshoot an experiment that did not work, and you speak up when a procedure looks inefficient.
- You can read and write Python, and you are comfortable working with AI-assisted coding tools.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

- You are familiar with automated liquid handlers or other automated laboratory platforms.
- You have done molecular cloning at the bench: plasmid design and assembly, restriction or Gibson cloning, transformation, and plasmid prep.
- You have cultured mammalian cells using aseptic technique.
Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting.The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $28.00 - $52.00 per hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
