As a Shovel Planner in the Short Range Mine Planning Team, you will be responsible for being a key team member in the development of our Mine Execution Plans and optimizing the delivery of the plan to Mine Operations. The position requires collaborating closely with Operations, Geology, Geotech and Environmental teams to ensure alignment of the execution plans with the business objectives, regulatory compliance and optimized, safe and environmentally responsible mine execution.

What you will doKey Responsibilities:
- Be a safety leader - support Mine Operations and adhere to all standards, procedures and operate with safety as a value.
- Support the development of the 3-day mine plans and weekly mine plans, providing technical guidance and recommendations on sequencing, mining rates, and equipment deployment.
- Develop bench designs, create shovel strategies, and monitor performance to production objectives.
- Develop and issue shovel dig limits and shovel dig blocks to be imported into Minestar dispatch system.
- Prepare plans and visualizations for Mine and Technical Leadership Teams.
- Identify opportunities and develop innovative ways that we can do work better, both at the mine face and in your daily work.
- Use your data analytics to gather insights and improvement opportunities within Mining.
About youSkills and Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Mining, Civil or Geological Engineering
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility with APEGA is required (Member in Training).
• 2+ years of experience in mine engineering, planning, or operations
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills
• Highly motivated individual with ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams
• Willingness to work a 14:14 fly in/fly out rotation in a remote worksite and camp location
Preferred Qualifications/ Experience
• Oil sands mine planning experience
• Experience with Deswik, AutoCAD and any commercial mine planning software package would be an asset
- Experience with Power BI, or other data analysis tools would be an asset
