Your Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer II (CA) for John Deere in Moline, IL, you will:

  • Develop, code, configure, and test programs and systems;
  • Evaluate and implement enhancement design solutions to improve cost, quality, and performance of software applications;
  • Analyze assignments and determine software specifications that must be fulfilled to achieve objectives;
  • Execute necessary documentation, as directed or needed;
  • Collaborate with other relevant stakeholders and team members to ensure that features meet business needs;
  • Follow industry-standard agile software design methodology for development and documentation.
  • This is an onsite position, must be in office 4 days in a week, subject to change per company policy.


What Skills You Need

  • 3 years of experience in design and build data architecture and loosely coupled software applications, including API development and automated deployments using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Jenkins, Docker, GitHub, and CI/CD
  • 3 years of experience in design and deliver data engineering pipelines and APIs to provide high quality, accessible data solutions using Databricks, EDL, Python, and Spark; experience in building and maintaining Databricks tables and views
  • 3 years of experience in deploy Java- and Python-based applications on AWS using ECS, S3, RDS, API Gateway, EC2, DMS, CloudWatch, and Datadog; hands-on experience developing and deploying Java applications on WebSphere Application Server (WAS) and Apache Tomcat
  • 3 years of experience configuring monitoring and observability tools including Amazon CloudWatch, APIM, and AppDynamics for APIs and RDS
  • 3 years of experience in build, enhance, and support application databases including IMS, DB2, PostgreSQL, and HANA; experience in database design and data modeling, with hands-on development of functions, indexes, tables, and views on DB2 and PostgreSQL; experience in data migration and real-time synchronization across IMS, DB2, RDS, HANA, SAP, and Data Lake systems, including setup and development of Attunity and BODS jobs
  • 3 years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise master data products (dealer, people, unit, organization), including implementation of complex business logic and mathematical calculations
  • 3 years of hands-on experience of SAP Business Partner model and MDG to execute existing transactions and analyze backend Business Partner tables in SAP


Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field plus 3 years related experience.
