Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Production Planner & Scheduler or Production Planner & Scheduler to support Eastern Region Manufacturing in Dulles, VA.

Plans sequence of fabrication, assembly, installation, and other manufacturing operations relating to specific portion of the product for guidance of production workers. Plans detail operations from drawings, engineering orders, change notices, and other engineering releases. Prepares shop work orders for materials and product processing and coordinates with schedulers to ensure that items are being processed according to specifications and time requirements. Maintains progress reports, schedules, and other related records.

Additional duties of an ECWC Production Planner & Scheduler:

  • Supports the Electronic Component Work Center (ECWC) main area and box town of which eventually contains all of the product flowing through the work center.
  • Tracks hardware to ensure products are delivered on time per schedule.
  • Follows up with technicians / kit auditor / stock room and fills part shortages on the floor.
  • Attends daily ECWC status meetings.
  • Keeps box close plans up-to-date ensuring accurate data.
  • Checks priorities for the next day.
  • Solves daily roadblocks.
  • Supports technicians with as required material needed on the floor.
  • Supports the Harness Work Center (HWC) / electro-Mechanical Work Center (eMWC) / Reliability Analysis Lab (RAL) with requests needed for the ECWC.
  • Supports Component Test Lab (CTL) with movement of CCAs / boxes ready for or completion of testing.
  • Creates rework Material Orders (MOs).
  • Creates shippers is responsible for shipping / tracking of units going to our sister facilities.
  • Tracks programming of all CCA flat pack grid arrays (FPGAs).

Duties of a Production Planner & Scheduler include those above and:

  • Identifies and rectifies all traceability concerns for all program builds in the ECWC including CCAs and box builds for both flight and non-flight that are flagged by Quality.
  • Answers questions at the daily ECWC status meetings.
  • Works hand in hand with the ECWC manager to prioritize workflow with technicians and Quality.
  • Supports other ECWC Planners with complicated issues, reversals and/or returns and rolling up or issuing CCAs or parts to the next higher assembly.


Associate Electronic Component Work Center (ECWC) Production Planner & Scheduler
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or high school diploma with an additional 4 years of experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to read an engineering drawing and parts list
  • Possess a high level of organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Possess a high level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to react quickly to people and situations
  • Process needed documentation
  • Follow written and verbal instructions
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Have a basic knowledge of manufacturing, inventory, production, test, procurement, quality basics, and/or engineering flows
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in production planning and scheduling
  • Reasonable knowledge of manufacturing, inventory, production, procurement, quality basics, and/or engineering flows
  • Reasonable knowledge of Circuit Card Assembly and Box level testing
  • Experience working in the Space industry
  • Proficiency in Costpoint or SAP, MRP, MES Solumina, and Windchill
  • Self-directed, proactive
  • Maintaining the ability to be on call as needed for emergency parts or kit requests


Electronic Component Work Center (ECWC) Production Planner & Scheduler
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with 3 years of experience or high school diploma with an additional 6 years of experience or Master's with 0 years of experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in Costpoint and Windchill
  • Ability to read an engineering drawing and parts list
  • Possess a high level of organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Possess a high level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to react quickly to people and situations
  • Process needed documentation
  • Follow written and verbal instructions
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Reasonable knowledge of manufacturing, inventory, production, test, procurement, quality basics, and/or engineering flows
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed

Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of recent production planning scheduling experience and/or knowledge
  • Experience working in the Space industry
  • High proficiency in Costpoint or SAP, MRP, MES Solumina, and Windchill
  • Self-directed, proactive
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing, inventory, production, procurement, quality basics, and/or engineering flows
  • Working knowledge of Circuit Card Assembly and Box level testing


Primary Level Salary Range: $57,300.00 - $85,900.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $69,000.00 - $103,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
