Full Job Description
Green Dot is seeking Building and Construction CTE Teachers to develop construction skills (including industry standard safe working standards) and coordinate work placements for high school students. The ideal candidate will foster student learning outcomes that are apprenticeship-ready for the Building and Construction Trades. Students will be prepared for important career-ready skills such as interviewing on the spot and knowing the right questions to ask for the apprenticeship interview. The ideal candidate will also be keenly aware of and foster the technical skills students will need to thrive in the Building and Construction Trades industry.
Please note: Any individual hired for an AMU position with a start date on or after September 15th will be classified as an at-will, probationary employee. At the conclusion of the school year, there may be an opportunity to transition to regular employee status. More information can be made available upon receipt of an application.

> Apply practical knowledge of construction instruction, with the specific purpose of preparing and inserting students into the construction industry
> Engage in data-driven planning and assessment of student learning

> Facilitate rigorous learning by delivering cognitively engaging lessons that incorporate our instructional methodologies
> Engage in critical reflection, constantly revising practice to increase effectiveness
> Participate in a professional community across your school site and the Green Dot network
> Develop partnerships within the community by communicating with families and bringing to bear resources that support student success in college, leadership, and life
QUALIFICATIONS
As an ideal candidate, you
> have a high school diploma or equivalent (required)
> have a valid California Designated Subjects Career Technical Education Teaching Credential with the industry sector: Building Trades and Construction or appropriate industry work experience to qualify for a CTE Credential
> have at least 3 years of construction industry experience
> have prior teaching/mentoring experience (preferred)
> are a licensed contractor (preferred)
> have strong content knowledge, pedagogical understanding, and the capacity to plan and deliver instruction to meet the needs of students
> display a relentless commitment to and high standards for high quality execution
> are passionate and demonstrate a high level of personal responsibility towards ambitious goals
> have excellent collaborative and organizational skills
> have excellent verbal and written communication skills
> have a strong ethical base and self-awareness
> are dependable, humble, have a sense of humor and a rock-solid commitment to Green Dot's mission and the communities we serve
> will need to pass a TB test and background check at time of offer

CREDENTIAL/LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
For California-Based Educators:
> Possess (or will possess by July 2026) a valid California Career Technical Education (CTE) credential, OR
> Possess (or will possess by July 2026) a valid California Preliminary or Clear Single Subject or Multiple Subject credential*

For Out-of-State or Non-Credentialed Applicants:
> Prior to applying, visit the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (https://www.ctc.ca.gov/) to assess teaching eligibility in a California public school as of July 2026
COMPENSATION - SALARY
> For credentialed teachers, our current salary scale ranges from $71,085 to $127,985, depending on your level of education and years of experience
> For aspiring teachers who have yet to obtain their credentials or those currently enrolled in a credentialing program, the current salary range is between $62,316 and $63,866
