World Athletics is the international governing body for the sport of athletics, covering track and field, cross country running, road running, racewalking, and mountain running. It is headquartered in Monaco and has a membership of 214 national governing bodies. World Athletics organizes the World Athletics Championships, the Diamond League, and the Continental Tour, among other events. The organization is responsible for setting the rules and regulations for the sport, as well as promoting and developing athletics worldwide.
