The University of Tampa (UT) is a private university in Tampa, Florida. It was founded in 1931 as Tampa Junior College, and in 1933 it became a four-year institution. The university offers more than 200 academic programs, including undergraduate and graduate degrees in business, communication, education, arts and sciences, nursing, and health sciences. The university has a diverse student body, with students from all 50 states and more than 140 countries. The university is known for its strong programs in business and entrepreneurship, and it has been ranked as one of the best regional universities in the South by U.S. News & World Report.
