The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) is a public research university located in Chicago, Illinois. It was founded in 1982 as the result of a merger between the University of Illinois at the Medical Center and the University of Illinois at Chicago Circle. Today, UIC is the largest university in the Chicago area, with over 33,000 students enrolled in undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs.
