Prenda Law was known for filing lawsuits against individuals for alleged copyright infringement of pornographic films. The firm was accused of using fraudulent tactics to obtain settlements from defendants. In 2016, John Steele was sentenced to five years in prison for his role in the Prenda Law scheme.
