Pinnacol Assurance is a Colorado-based workers' compensation insurance company. It was created in 1915 as the State Compensation Insurance Fund and was later renamed Pinnacol Assurance in 2002. The company provides workers' compensation insurance to more than 57,000 Colorado businesses. Pinnacol Assurance is a quasi-governmental agency, meaning it operates as a private company but is overseen by the state government.
