Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. is a Japanese multinational engineering, electrical equipment and electronics company headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. MHI is one of the core companies of the Mitsubishi Group. MHI's products include aerospace components, air conditioners, aircraft, automotive components, forklift trucks, hydraulic equipment, machine tools, missiles, power generation equipment, ships, and space launch vehicles. The company was established in 1884 as a shipbuilding company, and diversified into aircraft manufacturing during the 1920s. In 1934, it merged with the Mitsubishi Aircraft Company to form Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. The company is listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the Nikkei 225 stock market index.
