The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) is a civilian agency of the United States Department of Defense that manages schools for military-connected children in the United States and overseas. DoDEA's schools serve the children of military service members and Department of Defense civilian employees throughout the world. DoDEA operates 160 schools in 8 districts located in 11 foreign countries, seven states, Guam, and Puerto Rico. DoDEA also provides support and resources to Local Education Activities throughout the United States that serve children of military families.
