The company was founded in 2004 by Joe Rospars and Jascha Franklin-Hodge, who both worked on Howard Dean's 2004 presidential campaign. Blue State has worked on numerous political campaigns, including Barack Obama's 2008 and 2012 presidential campaigns, as well as advocacy campaigns for organizations such as the ACLU and the Human Rights Campaign.
