BioVectra is a pharmaceutical company based in the Canadian Atlantic provinces. The company is headquartered in Charlottetown, PEI and expanded into Windsor, NS in 2018. BioVectra is a contract development and manufacturing company that offers a variety of chemical and biochemical services. In 2019, the company was sold from Mallinckrodt to H.I.G. Capital, an international private equity firm., BioVectra started by Regis Duffy in a Garage in Charlottetown in 1970. Regis saw large-scale opportunity in the pharmaceutical and diagnostic marketplace and began working to fill that demand. Over the years, BioVectra has expanded its facilities as it grew. Notably, in 2014, it expanded its headquarters in Charlottetown and announced the acquisition of a former Sunovion facility in Windsor, NS. Today, BioVectra is PEI's oldest and largest biotechnology company.
