The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) is a professional organization for chemical engineers in the United States. AIChE was established in 1908 to distinguish chemical engineers as a profession independent of chemists and mechanical engineers. AIChE's mission is to promote excellence in chemical engineering education and global practice, advance the development and exchange of relevant knowledge, and positively impact societal outcomes. AIChE has more than 60,000 members from over 110 countries.
