10 states that are showing early signs of market recovery (plus how to get hired there now)

At the beginning of the week, the National Bureau of Economic Research confirmed that a recession began in February, as the economy hit its peak and then began to fall as the coronavirus pandemic began to affect businesses across the country. The number of jobs lost during the pandemic continues to mount, with 44 million jobless claims across the country over the past three months.

But the job markets in some states are beginning to show a recovery from the spike in unemployment applications. Rhode Island, Montana, and Vermont have seen the strongest signs of a return to normal, according to a Yahoo Finance review of jobless claims data from the U.S. Department of Labor.

While each state is still averaging more unemployment applications compared to before the pandemic began to affect the economy, unemployment applications in these states are slowing quickest.
