Hybrid career availability soared more than 350% from prepandemic numbers

New York, New York (February 16, 2022) – The number of hybrid jobs available in North America broke an all-time record this month. New research from Ladders, the career site for jobs that pay $100,000 or more, shows five percent of professional jobs in North America now offer a hybrid of in-office and remote work. For this research, data scientists completed a comprehensive review of more than five million career listings on Ladders. They discovered California, Florida, Texas, New York and Massachusetts offered the most hybrid career opportunities.

Prepandemic, in February of 2020, about one and a quarter percent of all professional jobs offered hybrid opportunities. By February of 2021, it was about one and a half percent. Today, more than 5% of all professional jobs are hybrid. That’s more than a 350% increase in just two years. “Hybrid work is moving at hyper speed. We’ve seen more than 100 years of growth condensed into just two. It’s a revolution in the career space and our lives will never be the same,” said Ladders CEO Marc Cenedella

25% of all professional North American jobs are now offered in nontraditional formats
When you combine the rapid hybrid work opportunity acceleration with the remote work growth trend, the numbers are truly staggering. Nearly 20% of all professional jobs are now remote. That means a full quarter of all North American jobs no longer require workers to be in an office full time. “We are experiencing a radical societal shift with long lasting impacts not only in the workplace but in every aspect of our lives,” said Cenedella.
