Engineering Managers combine the rational thinking and imagination of the expert engineer with the complex challenges of government and/or business. Problem-solving abilities on a grand scale and an in-depth understanding of business are necessary for success in the field. So an engineering manager must be a scientist, a creative, a technically proficient specialist, and a natural organizer and leader. Overseeing and guiding all elements of operational performance is a daily task. Qualifications include a minimum of an engineering or related degree and a degree in business.
