lightbulbWhat is Database Administration?
Database Administrators ensure the maximum uptime and efficiency of company databases. Responsibilities include database monitoring and troubleshooting, security, and planning ahead for potential changes and growth. Because technical abilities are needed for optimal DBA performance, deep understanding of the database operating system and engine, as well as the database itself, will usually be required — potentially with training provided to qualified and/or experienced DBAs. Qualifications include a related certificate (DBA, BI), associate’s degree plus experience, or a bachelor’s or master’s degree.
Top jobs in Database Administration include: Data Analyst, Database Administrator and Data Architect.
