Responsibilities include the analysis of maps/survey reports and the results of foundation tests; assessment of construction costs, hazards and regulations; use of design software for planning and design of systems and structures; overseeing surveying operations and managing repair and maintenance. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, civil engineering technology and/or a specialist area.
